- ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
- In a large skillet, add the olive oil and butter; melt over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Pour in the white wine and let simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and bring to a boil.
- Mix in the reserved ½ cup of pasta water and simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Add the drained pasta and toss well to coat with the sauce.
- Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
You can substitute the white wine with chicken or vegetable broth.
Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
