Description

These Easy Caramel Chocolate Mousse Domes offer an irresistible blend of flavors with simple preparation. Perfect for special occasions or a delightful treat at home, this dessert combines rich chocolate and sweet, buttery caramel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz quality chocolate semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter can substitute with vegan butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream coconut cream for dairy-free option
  • 1 tbsp gelatin consider agar-agar for vegetarian option
  • 1 cup granulated sugar coconut sugar for less refined sweetness
  • 1 tsp sea salt fleur de sel for gourmet finish
  • 1 cup fresh berries for vibrant presentation
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings for elegant finish

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate and unsalted butter together in a double boiler, stirring gently until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • Whip the heavy cream in a large mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold this into the cooled chocolate mixture.
  • In a medium saucepan, cook the granulated sugar over medium heat until it turns golden amber. Stir in the butter and heavy cream until smooth, then add the sea salt.
  • Spoon the mousse into dome molds, making an indentation in each. Fill with the salted caramel and then cover with more mousse. Chill for a minimum of 4 hours.

  • Optional: Garnish with fresh berries or chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use coconut cream and vegan butter.
Consider using agar-agar instead of gelatin for a vegetarian version.
