Description

These Easy Hershey’s Red Velvet Blossoms Cookies are a sweet treat with vibrant color and rich flavor. With simple prep and delightful chocolate kisses, they’re perfect for sharing!


Ingredients

  • 7 tbsp butter (salted or unsalted, softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 Hershey chocolate kisses

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring gel, mixing until combined.
  • Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, and mix until just combined.
  • Scoop out 18 portions of cookie dough, roll into balls, and coat in red sanding sugar.
  • Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes.
  • Press a Hershey’s chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie right out of the oven and let cool.

Notes

Use softened butter for easy creaming.
Don’t over-mix the dough to maintain a tender texture.
If short on time, chill the dough for easier shaping.
