Description

Savor the irresistible flavors of French Onion Pasta, combining sweet caramelized onions and creamy sauce for a comforting meal. Quick and easy, it’s perfect for dinner any night.

Ingredients

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Yellow Onions (4, thinly sliced)
  • Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
  • Beef Broth (4 1/2 cups)
  • Shell Pasta (1 pound)
  • Dried Thyme (1 teaspoon)
  • Heavy Cream (1 cup)
  • Parmesan Cheese (1/2 cup, grated)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Fresh Parsley (1/4 cup, finely chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over low heat.
  • Add sliced onions and cook for 25-30 minutes until caramelized.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in some beef broth to deglaze the pan, scraping the flavorful bits.
  • Add remaining broth, pasta, and thyme; simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  • Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until heated through.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Use high-quality beef broth for richer flavor.
Substitute gluten-free pasta or vegetable broth for a lighter version.
Avoid browning garlic by adding it after the onions are caramelized.
