Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef (90% lean)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup shallot (finely diced)
  • 10 ounces mushrooms (sliced)

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  • Cook ground beef in a large skillet until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes; keep warm.
  • Sauté shallots in melted butter until soft, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in demi-glace, bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream, sour cream, and Dijon mustard; mix well.
  • Add cooked ground beef along with its juices; heat through for 1-2 minutes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
For a lighter version, use ground turkey and choose a dairy-free cream alternative.
