Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp salted butter
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup green bell pepper
  • 4 oz canned mushrooms
  • 1 pkg onion soup mix
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • cooked rice

Instructions

  • Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and green bell pepper until soft.
  • Add chicken to the skillet, browning on both sides.
  • Stir in canned mushrooms and warm through.
  • Mix onion soup mix with water and Worcestershire sauce, bring to simmer.
  • Whisk cornstarch with cold water, then add to thicken the gravy.
  • Serve over rice and enjoy.

Notes

Gluten-free options are available for the onion soup mix.
