Description

Ingredients

  • Approximately 88 pretzel snaps (about 5 cups)
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (227 grams)
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: chopped pecans, colorful sprinkles, flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a 10×15 inch sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the pretzel snaps in neat rows on the pan.
  • In a saucepan, combine butter, dark brown sugar, and sea salt over medium heat and stir until melted.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring continuously for about 3 minutes until thickened.
  • Pour the caramel mixture over the pretzels, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 5-6 minutes until bubbling and reaching around 300°F.
  • Remove from oven, wait 2 minutes, and sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
  • Let sit for 4-5 minutes until the chips melt, then spread smooth.
  • Add any desired toppings before letting cool to set and break into pieces.
