Description

These Soft Molasses Cookies are irresistibly flavorful and easy to prepare. Filled with warm spices and sweet molasses, they’re perfect for any gathering!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup Dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup White granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1 Large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup Unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 4 oz Cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 1/2 cups Powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • Brown gel food dye

Instructions

  • Combine dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Mix butter and sugars until fluffy.
  • Add wet ingredients to the sugar mixture.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Bake cookies for 14-16 minutes.
  • Cool cookies and transfer to wire rack.
  • Prepare cream cheese frosting by mixing ingredients until smooth.
  • Frost cookies and decorate as desired.

Chill the dough to help cookies maintain shape.
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
