Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp Ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
- 1 cup Unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 cup Dark brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup White granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 1 Large egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup Unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 4 oz Cream cheese (room temperature)
- 2 1/2 cups Powdered sugar (sifted)
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- Brown gel food dye
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients and set aside.
- Mix butter and sugars until fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients to the sugar mixture.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350℉.
- Bake cookies for 14-16 minutes.
- Cool cookies and transfer to wire rack.
- Prepare cream cheese frosting by mixing ingredients until smooth.
- Frost cookies and decorate as desired.
Notes
Chill the dough to help cookies maintain shape.
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
