Description

This Valentine 2 Ingredient Bagel offers a simple yet delightful experience with its irresistible flavor and quick prep time. Made with just self-rising flour and Greek yogurt, it’s perfect for a tasty snack or a quick meal.

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain non-fat greek yogurt
  • 1 egg plus 1 teaspoon of water (optional for toppings)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt with a wooden spoon until combined.
  • Once the dough comes together, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead until it forms a ball.
  • Since the dough is sticky, flour your hands and surface well, adding more flour if necessary.
  • Cut the dough into four even pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a log approximately 4 to 6 inches long, then pinch the ends together to form a bagel.
  • Place each formed bagel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat.
  • Make an egg wash by beating the egg with one teaspoon of water. Brush it on each bagel and add any desired toppings.
  • Bake the bagels in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 22 minutes.
  • Remove the tray, increase the oven temperature to 450°F, and return the baking sheet for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, or until browned on top.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
