Description

Ingredients

  • ½ cup light corn syrup

  • 3 drops red food dye
  • Valentine’s sprinkles
  • Water + Lemon or Lime Juice

Instructions

  • Slice Granny Smith apples into 8 equal pieces and soak in a mixture of cold water and lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • Pat apple slices dry, insert toothpicks, and pair slices to form heart shapes.
  • Freeze paired apple slices for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water, and heat until boiling.
  • Once reaching 300°F, remove from heat and stir in food dye.
  • Quickly dip each apple heart into candy mixture and decorate with sprinkles.
  • Place on parchment-lined baking sheet to cool before removing toothpicks.
