Instructions
- Slice Granny Smith apples into 8 equal pieces and soak in a mixture of cold water and lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Pat apple slices dry, insert toothpicks, and pair slices to form heart shapes.
- Freeze paired apple slices for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water, and heat until boiling.
- Once reaching 300°F, remove from heat and stir in food dye.
- Quickly dip each apple heart into candy mixture and decorate with sprinkles.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet to cool before removing toothpicks.
