Description

Valentine Chocolate Covered Pretzels for kids bring together the sweet crunch of pretzels and creamy chocolate coating, perfect for parties or homemade gifts. Easy to make, these delights are sure to impress anyone with their great taste and delightful appearance.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 4 cups pretzels
  • optional: sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  • Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and set it aside.
  • Melt the chocolate and oil together using a double boiler or the microwave. If you choose the microwave, place the chocolate and oil in a medium heat-proof bowl, such as a glass measuring cup, and microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring after each until completely melted and smooth.
  • Once melted, dip pretzels into the chocolate using a fork. Lift them out and gently tap the fork against the side of the bowl so any excess chocolate drips off. Use a toothpick to slide the coated pretzel onto the lined baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
  • Let the chocolate-covered pretzels set in the refrigerator for about 20–30 minutes. Once the chocolate has hardened, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

Using a squeeze bottle for drizzling chocolate adds a nice touch to the pretzels.
Make sure to use heat-proof bowls to easily melt the chocolate without burning it.
These pretzels make great party favors or gifts.
