Ingredients
- Puff Pastry (1 lb)
- Granulated Sugar (1 cup)
- Ground Cinnamon (2 and 1/2 teaspoons)
- Ground Nutmeg (1 teaspoon)
- Ground Cardamom (1 teaspoon)
- Orange Zest (2 teaspoons, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your puff pastry by chilling or thawing as needed.
- Combine the granulated sugar and spices in two bowls; mix orange zest in one.
- Roll out the dough and sprinkle the first sugar mixture over it.
- Evenly sprinkle the orange zest mixture over the dough and roll tightly.
- Wrap the log in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes to 2 days.
- Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Slice the logs into 3/8 inch-thick cookies and place on sheets.
- Bake until golden brown, around 18-21 minutes total, flipping halfway through.
- Cool slightly on baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.

Use new parchment paper for better sticking prevention when rolling dough.
